Welcome to Gueve Farm- Productivity With Stewardship

Let Us Tell You Our Story

Gueve Farm is a smallholder oil palm cultivation and other agricultural activities site situated in Yeala, Zorzor District, Lofa County, Liberia. It was established in July 2016. The farm is exactly 9.2 hectares (22.7 acres) with possibility of expansion. The coordinate of the location of the farm is surrounding 7°48'32.14" N 9°24'29.02" W. The distance from Gueve Farm to Zorzor is 4.3km and the distance from Yeala to Gueve Farm is 1.8km. This means that Gueve Farm is situated on the main road between Yeala and Zorzor. About 60% of the number of hectares have already been cultivated with oil palm. A research station to manage seedlings and a nursery and training site will be built to support new oil palm growers.

GUEVE FARM is also an agricultural corporation/consultancy firm that provide, but not limited to the following:

1. Agricultural consultancy, training and extension services.
2. We start your farm for you, complete it and give it to you. Just tell us what you want to do.
3. We can provide for you all of the agricultural hardware supplies and tools you need for your farm. Just tell us what you want.
4. We promote sustainable agriculture with the protection of the natural environment.
5. We are also a reliable project partner in agriculture investment. Partner with us to implement your projects.

In addition to oil palm cultivation, we will also be engaging into the following:

1. Livestock Ranching/Pastoral Farming: -Gueve Farm will be engage into small scale livestock ranching/pastoral farming with livestock species like goat, cow (mainly local or what we called country cow), sheep and pig. We believe livestock integration will boost food productivity and soil fertility owing to its synergistic benefits.

2. Pisciculture or Fish Farming: - Fish has been an important component of our diet here in Liberia, but we haven’t been able to effectively engage into pisciculture activities. Gueve Farm also intend to ensure a constant supply of fresh water aquatic species for consumption. We have a suitable environment with good source of high-quality water to support our intention.

3. Heliciculture or Snail Farming: - Many people think that the only way to find and sell snail is by going to the bush during the rainy season to pick these animals. This is not true. We at Gueve Farm believe that heliciculture or snail farming can be an excellent way to meet the demand for snail meat on our market. Currently a significant percentage of the snail supplied to our local markets are picked from the forest. However, the growing population and the increase in the interest in snail meat makes the method of supply unsustainable. With the favorable habitat at Gueve Farm, the clear-cut opportunity and low risk involve, we intend to engage into snail farming at a larger scale.

As Gueve Farm strives with innovation in improving its agricultural activities, the management needs your partnership and contribution to achieve its objectives.

Gueve Farm also have a number of associates (other independent smallholder farmers) that are collaborating for common good under the banner, Gueve Farm and Associates. In this collaboration, Gueve Farm is playing a leadership role in bringing together farmers in a strong farming fraternity to be abreast about new technology and information pertaining to modern agricultural trends and practices.
